luke took l to see the lorax today... this is his very first movie in the theatre. luke took him last saturday {opening day} but they were sold out, we probably should have planned on that happening;) luke told l that all the seats were taken & there wasn't any left for them so they would have to come back another time. l had been over the moon excited to go to the movies, just him & dad, luke felt SO bad! he asked l if he was mad at daddy... l said no, it's ok daddy. i love that boy so much! i think luke ended up feeling worse about it than l:)then last sunday i noticed a raised welt/bug bite on l's back in the late afternoon. i asked him if it was itchy & he said yes... we decided it was a bug bite & kind of forgot all about it. that night about a 1/2 hour after l went to bed he woke up crying, saying that his feet were itchy. luke went up to get him, he had hives all over his back & one on his nose by his eye. his hands & feet were swollen & red. he was REALLY itchy.
luke decided to take him into the er. he was a trooper! the dr. said he was one of the most well behaved kids she had seen in a while. keep in mind this is also 9pm... well after bedtime & it could have been very easily the opposite;) so i'm very thankful for her noticing his good behavior!
he was given some benadyrl which helped & knock on wood.. he hasn't had any more hives over the past week.
l did go in for a check up at his pediatricians office and the dr. set up an appointment at the lab for blood work to check for any food allergies. since l hadn't had blood taken before, i was a little nervous to see how he would react to the needle & all. i decided to be straight with him and told him "it would hurt a little bit, but your strong & brave right?" he said "right"
we got to the lab and he skipped right in smiling away... the ladies said he was the most excited patient they had ever seen. i said i don't think he knows what's about to happen;) luke held him and had him look away from his arm. i gave him a little heads up as to when the needle was coming. he cried for about 10-20 seconds & then he was good. got a blue bandage, an insane amount of cars stickers and he was walking back out. the whole thing didn't take more than 5 minutes! luke and i were so proud & also a little shocked! man oh man i love that boy!
so now we just wait for the results... fingers crossed no allergies!
