pop pop pop

i bought some microwave popcorn for some wicked cute teacher valentines & poped some up for my wicked cute little dudes. i swear i didn't put *anything* on the popcorn & e is not under the influence... i think i just caught him mid-blink;)
and don't mind the boys hair... we are desperatly over due for haircuts. woops!

everyday

after sharing my valentines decor i figured i'd show you all the setup for our hutch everyday, aka no holiday.

this house is tiny... the downstairs any way, and it doesn't have a mantel. so i've had limited decorating space. i've taken over the top of the hutch in our dining space - it's not really a full room:) some day in the not so distant future i will have my mantel AND space for my entryway table again:) for now we make d0...

i've always had splashes of yellow,one of my favorite wedding gifts is our yellow kitchenaid from my awesome sil!

lately i've been love love loving grey & yellow. super excited for a certain wedding with that color scheme in may!! stephanie *lewis* (i would link you here but for some reason i can't highlight anything right now. jeesh technology!!)

helping out

i love love love that the boys are still at the age where they want to help out their mama... at least most of the time.

i don't even know what e was cleaning up, if anything, but he looked so darn cute doing it:)

tell me that's not the cutest little almost 2 year old boy face!! just want to smooch him!

l rediscovered the cheese sticks the other day...they were burried somewhere in our deli drawer.

so what better photo op than eating cheese!! and e finally made an appearance on the camera:)

someone has been wearing his halloween costume a lot lately. this was day 2... the day before he wore it to walmart and made the day of quite a few customers!

we also had some silly face time while e was napping:) l is getting pretty handy with a camera! he is also way better at silly faces than his mama!

what the...

any time l is in the bathroom for a while & it's been really quiet... it's NEVER a good sign! this particular day there was a science expierment with some lotion, water, clothes pins & a plastic jug. when he tired of that, he moved on to squirting lotion on the mirror, the counter top, the cabinet door and finally the floor. good times... good times!

valentine's day

we are getting all lovey dovey over here at the marland household... not that we aren't every other day of the year:)

valentine's day was never really a big deal for luke & i before we had the kiddos... dinner out & maybe a handmade sweet card but that was pretty much it. but once the boys came along every holiday kinda became more of a big deal:)

i have definitely always loved to decorate... this year i had a little helper:) love having the kids put their touch on things. and yes i realize it *might* have been a little easier for him to color the heart off of the jar, but he still rocked it!!

i'm realizing there are a LOT of l blogs & not so many of e. most of the picture taking happens while e is napping. poor dude. i'll try to be more equal:)

i'm also realizing that l looks VERY tired in almost all of these pics... that is because he still needs a nap but he doesn't want to nap:( this is a hard transition we are all trying to make - the no nap thing is tough! the thing is i'm not going to fight him on it ... he rarely ends up falling asleep even after we've battled it out AND if he does end up sleeping he is up FOREVER at bed time. i would rather have an early night & no battle, thank you very much:)
