Happy Halloween

Landon had a Dino-Mite Halloween... he even had his very first lollypop don't worry the wrapper was still on:) San Diego pics to come!

I know I promised no more blogging until our return BUT we have some exciting monumental news! Landon cut his first tooth!!! Now we know why he's been so cranky - so nice to know that we weren't doing something detrimental to him:) Yup... one of his two bottom teeth is up & the other should be on its way!!! No pictures of this one... you can't really see it yet but hopefully they'll be in full force soon & then we'll share the adorable toofy pictures!

The week in Review

Rice Cereal... Daddy tried... Mama tried... even Landon tried... but no luck:)


This past week has been a trying one! Landon has his first cold& he wasn't sleeping very well to begin with so the lack of sleep we are getting in this house is RIDICULOUS!!! I must say that I have the best husband in the world ... Luke has been getting up with him for everything other than the feedings - so about every 2 hours Luke's up w/ Landon:( As he will be @ work for the next two days & then I go to San Diego w/ out him... I am in for a world of hurt:) When I return from San Diego we are planning a MAJOR over haul on the whole sleeping thing... time to start the sleep training *sigh*. We were so lucky to have him just sleep all on his own @ such a young age that now it is SOOOO biting us in the bottom.
We tried some rice cereal to see if he was just super hungry (although if you look @ the Buddha belly on the kid - how that is possible I don't know) but as you can see in the photos, that was not the problem-o. Super duper funny though! I am glad we tried... got some cute pictures.
Landon is babbling away... he's got SO much to say... I think that's part of the sleeping problem since 1/2 the time he would rather talk to us than go back to sleep:) It's cute but I don't know how many more semi-sleepless nights I or Luke can take. This will probably be the last post until I return from the trip - not that I've been the best blogger any way... Tan... fun... sunny pictures to come upon my return! I can't friggin' wait!!!!

Back in the swing of things...

Luke & I FINALLY made it back to the gym for the first time in a long time yesterday! We'll be going back again today & we're going to TRY our hardest to be really good about going!! Landon went into the little daycare facility they have & he was a SUPER good boy. That makes it sooo much easier for us to just drop him & run:) litteraly
As for the weekend... we have a poker run thingy that's going on in Sequim & Port Angeles so Luke definitely wants to do that... should be fun as long as Landon is up for riding in the car since we have to drive a little bit to each destination. A couple of the stops are at wineries so one of us may have to partake in a little taste test. I wonder which one it will be.... hmmmm.... Luke. Hopefully we'll get some good pics to post next week.

Update

We've been busy out here... Last night we went to a wedding of one of the guys from the station... then today we went to the punkin patch:) Landon can hold his bottle all by himself") Hmmm.... I think that about covers it!

Twilight

So this new (well... maybe not super new) series seems to be all the buzz lately... and now w/ a new movie I guess it may get a little bigger. I have not been drawn in ... but the oh so very funny thing about it... the stories take place in the town right near Luke's station (and I think that the town will only be famous for these books .. I mean there is NOTHING there:)) Well... if you have no idea what books I'm talking about here's the link Twilight Series. We'll see if I get hooked... no time for reading lately... more pictures of the reason why soon:)

write your senator a "letter" on behalf of all the children being sexually assaulted. I was watching Oprah (I know... I know) the other day & it was DISGUSTING what is being done to children as young as 0 months:( We actually can do something about it to put a stop to it (or at least a damper on it). Write your senator and request that he/she votes to pass Senate Bill 1738—The PROTECT Our Children Act. I know as a mama I would probably hunt down & kill whom ever touched my kiddo but hey... this is probably a better solution:)
So Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please do this today... I think the Bill goes before the senate w/ in the next week!!!

Life

Here's what has been going on... TONS!!!

First of all I have to share the exciting Lando news that was promised.... he rolled over!!! My baby boy rolled over:(... he's not such a baby baby any more so SAD!!! We were @ the doctors office getting the ears checked (he's been yanking away @ them... possible toothys are on the way) She plopped him on his belly on the exam table & all of a sudden he just rolled over. She said "oh I see he rolls over" both Luke & I are staring w/ our jaws down to the floor... "I guess he does now" we both said:) Then she put him on his belly & over he went AGAIN!!! The next day I put him on the floor on his tummy & he rolled over 3 times in a row... he hasn't done it since:) Oh well... at least we know he can... now he just has to want to do it!

As for all of our Seattle trips... when we went for the award ceremony, I forgot my camera in the car (of course) so they took some pics & posted them on the USCG facebook thingy... & I seriously look like such a goof ball! I am smiling so freekin' big that I have slitty eyes... so you all won't be seing that one:) but here's a pic from my cousins west coast wedding picnic which we had a ton of fun @... the park was amazing... & we went for a little walk down near the water - nice day!! Well... the kiddo's up so more to come later! (don't know why this is a link... ugh computers)

Happy Birthday Baby

So... we have some exciting Landon news but that will have to wait because today is a very special day... It's Luke's birthday. He's a whole whopping 27 years old. I tried to plan a surprise dinner out w/ some friends but just as I am a horrible surprise receiver... I am a horrible surprise giver too & I totally blew it:) It will still be a nice night out though! So... pictures to come.

3 years

Three wonderful years ago today... we became one. These have been the best three years of my life. We have had trying times, a big move away from all our friends & family but overall we have had the most wonderful times together.
I love you for loving me just as I am... the good, the bad & the oh so ugly:) You are unbelievably patient and understanding... you know just how to deal w/ me & my moods:) I love you more today than I did on our wedding day - I didn't think that was possible but somehow I do.
I thank you for being the best possible husband each & every day & I love watching you be the best daddy ever to Landon. You two make me the happiest lady in the world. I love you. Happy Anniversary babe! MWAHxxxx

Hanging out for a photo shoot in the diaper...
So we are using cloth diapers & for anyone who may be considering them... they are FABULOUS!!! We love the bum genius diapers that we have & they are super easy to use. They also are adjustable so we only need these diapers from 7lbs to 35lbs & we're hoping to potty train when these start getting snug:) Therefor we are saving mega amounts of $$$$!! Not to mention they're a little bit on the green side, which we are trying harder to be lately... mainly because of this little one & his future on this planet!
Any way... we really do love them so if you're thinkin' about it... they are definitely worth looking into.
It's a little more laundry ... but his clothes create a LOT more laundry so it's really not that big of a deal!! & NO LEAKS... he has never leaked through these diapers like he would leak through a disposable. (which i would still use during the newborn phase since they go through a ridiculous amount of diapers in a day)

OK OK... I'm off the soapbox... but we are just sooo happy & pleasantly surprised @ how easy the cloth diapers are that I thought I'd share w/ you all:)

Here are some pics of what we've been up to lately. We took Landon to the Lake yesterday when the temp. finally hit 80... it was about 90 by the time we got there so we sooo wanted to get wet. Lando did not love the water but he did love hanging out w/ daddy:) & of course a naked baby shot... tell me he doesn't have the cutest little butt:)

Up & Coming Events

It seems as though the summer has flown by (not that we really had a SUMMER not in my terms any way... when the temp doesn't get above 75... it aint summer) and we have some fall plans that are fast approaching.
So a while back Luke wrote a short story for a little Coast Guard writing contest... & low & behold he won (what a smarty pants I have). So the prize was $500 ... and then we found out that we also won tickets to the Coast Guard Ball in Seattle this September. So we're really excited... we get a free room in the hotel too... so we're spending the night & my cousin & his wife - who live in Seattle- are planning on watching the little one so Luke & I can have a few hours out alone:) Sooo fun. So I need to buy a dress!!! AHHHHH! I haven't bought a real dress dress since my junior prom (I ended up borrowing for the senior prom) that was.... hmmm A LOT of years ago:)
We also have another Seattle adventure the last week in August when we go to the Coast Guard station for the award ceremony - another night over in Seattle courtesy of the Coast Guard!! Yeay... civilization!!!
Then our BIG trip is to San Diago in October... my parents are flying us in so we can all visit Davin... all be together for the 1st time in over a year:) I can't wait to see the bro. & have Landon meet his uncle!!! I miss him sooo much!!! I can't wait!!! So I will keep you posted on all the travel plans as well as the plain ol' day to day:)

The update... Landon is now a little over 2 months. I can't believe it... it has gone by too fast. The other day we put him in one of his newborn outfits & it was SNUG:( He's not a new baby any more... he's already a little boy... I can't stand it.
His 2 month appointment was this past friday & our big boy is really a big boy... he is up to 12lb. 2 oz. & he's 23" long now!
He got 3 shots & he took them like a champ... I can't say the same for me:( I felt his pain.
The Doctor was very happy w/ his development & everything seems to be normal!
