just got back ....

from my visit w/ another ENT (ear, nose & throat)... he would be the 3rd one that I've seen in less than a year & the ONLY one w/ some answers. (yet another reason why the east coast is SOOO much better than the west! arrrggghhh)
1st off... he brought up otosclerosis - which is what Luke had found online when he did a little research - he's the only one who has mentioned it (& he did so even before I showed him the 3 pages of info. that Luke had printed up)... he says it's probably not it but get this... he wants to do a CAT scan just to make sure... hmmmm I'm pretty freekin' positive that none of the other freekin' ENT's I went to even mentioned a freekin' CAT scan just to MAKE SURE (not that i'm freekin' upset or anything)
2nd off... he said he wished that i had come to him back in March when this started because he would have prescribed high doses of steroids (for a very short time period ... don't worry i'm not going to get all roid rage on your a*s:)) which has a 50% success rate of reversing this type of hearing loss if done in the early stages!!! Now we are discussing the possibilities of still trying this (or a shot of steroid to the inner ear) but he projects only a 10-15% chance of it working... this is when i started to tear up a bit because if the 1st DR. i had gone to knew about this or suggested this MAYBE I COULD HEAR... maybe this annoying ringing in my ears would go away.... maybe i wouldn't have to get a hearing-aid @ 35(if not sooner).
other news...
-there is a possibility that i will loose even more of my hearing during another pregnancy.
I think that about sums it up. I'll keep you posted on more news/CAT scan results and the such:) & I'm not even going to promise to post more often to the blog... that would just be getting your hopes up:)

because i took pictures of my house when it was ... MESSY!! I didn't see utter & total organization in our near future & I didn't want to keep you all waiting, so here are pictures of my house. & it is not perfect as I wish it were!!! clothes on the bed... dishes on the table...piles of "stuff" (I hate PILES)... etc. so feel lucky... feel very lucky:) Enjoy... I'll post new pics when we get the basement & everything else set up. but it probably won't be until december so DON'T bug me!! ;)

The new house

The house is good... semi moved in the basement is in under destruction & probably will remain that way until we move out! I have NO motivation to hang out in a dark, damp basement & unpack boxes while Landon is napping. A mama needs her me time:)

So still no pictures... I am working on it. There are a few minor clean-ups that need to be done before pictures can be taken. We might have our first (well aside from my parents) house guest next Monday so I suppose I will have to clean for her;) then pictures can be taken & I will blog it up - promise!! But if she doesn't come... no pictures :) sorry!! (got to put on the pressure)

It is finally a warm & sunny day so Landon & I are going to go do something besides drive to a mall - although that has been a very fun pastime. Don't worry I'm being VERY good... I can't seem to find any clothes I like this season. Lucky for Luke:) & our budget!!

Slackin'

I know ... I know. I've been really bad. But now that we are in our new house & things are slowly returning to normal I wil TRY to be good. I probably won't be as good as I used to be seeing as how we have a life now:) you know friends, family... people who love us & want to hang out with us ALL the time:) hehehehe

sorry to leave you all hanging... it's been A WHILE!!! well... we are here. here meaning RI:) and next week we'll be moving into our house in Newburyport! I have been taking pictures but won't upload until our computer is up & running so another week or two:( I will be keeping up with the blog even though we are on the right coast now:) We still have some followers out there on that wrong coast:) and we just want to keep everyone up to date with just how cute Landon is:)!

We have been BUSY! It has been sooooo nice to actually have a thriving social life again & Landon has adapted just fine to being out of the house 80% of the day. We have shopped until we droped on NUMEROUS occasions! We have enjoyed the sun & the beach!!! We have checked out our house in MA & we LOVE IT!!!! can't wait to move in & get all settled! (pictures will come of the house too) So just be a little bit patient with me since I have no idea how this whole move will be with the little babino... hopefuly smooth & quick:) Pictures & a post as soon as we get settled!

ps... my baby is turning one in less than a week. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN:( I can't believe how fast this year has flown by!!!

not much to tell...

we've got 9 days until we fly into ri:) other than that not too much excitement on this coast.
very excited to never live in port angeles WA EVER again!! that makes for a VERY happy girl!
getting to the point were i just want to move already! our house is in complete & total chaos which for those of you who know me ... DRIVES ME UP THE WALL!!! i like clean, tidy, ORDERLY.... i don't do mess very well.
we're getting our tenants mail in addition to ours which is great & i'm glad that we can do that for them since it makes it SO much easier but.... that adds to the clutter uggghhh:)
well this is probably my last west coast post (unless something earthshateringly-yeah it's a word- monumental happens in the next week)

april already

i've got a little one on my lap as i try to type this post... it might be a short one:)

i can't believe that it is april already! we fly home in exactly one month!!! so exciting - let the count down begin.

we have been very busy here. trying to keep up with a certain someone who is ON THE MOVE! he's unstoppable & investigating *getting into* everything. we also have a cold epidemic - so it's been snot snot & more snot around here! and LOADS of drool - not sure what that's about.

no pictures to share right now... so that's it for now. i guess i just wanted to let you all know that we are alive and well -barely.

well... the reason i haven't posted in a while is because i have NO pictures to post. BECAUSE... the baby is CRAWLING like mad! so 1. i can't get a good shot because he isn't still for long enough! 2. i have no time to do much else besides making sure he's out of angies water bowl & picking up after the mass destruction that occurs with a mobile child! WOO i am worn out!!

It's 11:11 PM, I couldn't sleep because I was thinking of your hearing issue. You can thank "HOUSE" for this. On the last episode, there was a guy who had ringing in his ears, the doctor laid him down and turned his head to the side and told him "it should be fine now, you just had a calcium deposit floating around in the inner ear". So I wanted to look it up. Don't think it's that simple either. But here you go...

I found that OTOSCLEROSIS is build up of calcium on the stapes, which is just inside the ear drum so it can't be seen.
- It occurs in mostly women around the age of 30 or sometimes before.
- It is sometimes genetic- It gets worse when women are pregnant and may not go away.
- It's tough to hear high pitch or normal conversations, you tend to hear better in noisy surroundings.
- Many people experience "tinitis" or ringing in the ears.

There is a couple options for it. Hearing aids, surgery to fix the stape. There may be side effects but only in limited patients, like 1% or something.

Not much...

is happening here. I have a few pictures that are waiting to be uploaded onto the computer & then they will make their appearance here on the blog!

We are excited to be coming home! I will be getting some packing materials this week & beginning the process of packing our most important possessions. mostly scrapbooks & photos things that are irreplaceable as the packing guys f*ed up our wedding album in the last move & i'm not taking any chances this time. fool me once...

Hard to believe that we are so close to moving back east. There was a point in time when it felt as if it would never happen & now here we are! WOW!

Landon is getting soooo close to crawling! It's so funny to watch him progress more and more each day... before long i won't be able to sit for more than a second and i am not so excited for that day:(

I'm coming home!

Well we're all coming home. BUT... Landon & I are coming home a little bit before daddy.
Our flight is booked... and we fly home May 2nd.
It's a 7 hour 2omin. flight - the shortest one we could find on southwest who is having their $99 flights (SWEET.. although w/ taxes it sooo is not $99 but whatevs).
I am HOPPING & PRAYING that the flight goes well. Landon has been very wiggly lately & I'm pretty sure it will get worse over the next 2 months.... what am i getting myself into??? But it's worth it because we will be home FOR GOOD!!! Can't wait to see all your smiling faces:) (not because we'll be there - but just because we only have happy smiley friends & family:))

Baby Blues!

Well here is the cutie himself. Landon James and those to die for baby blues. He was just playing with his toys before bedtime and decided to makes some cute faces for the camera. What a silly little boy, but you gotta love those eyes.

Landon is now brushing his teeth (well we actually do the brushing) with toothpaste! He LOVES it... we use the silly strawberry kind & he seriously thinks it's desert:) Which makes it much easier to get the toothbrush in the mouth!
On another note he is also eating TONS of new foods. This am it was boca sausage & egg yolk (he can't have whites yet) & I had to take a picture - doesn't the egg look like a lobster claw?? I DID NOT do that on purpose:)
We hope you all have a fun filled weekend. Not sure what our plans our but I think there is a little momma time in the works! I have to get some scrap booking done. My craft space looks like a bomb went off & it's been like that for over a month (thank goodness it's hidden in the corner:)) Also to be done... housework - last minute touch ups & maybe a little PACKING!!! SOOOOO EXCITING!

Whistler/Blackcomb

We had tons of fun!! I got back up on the skis... not an easy task since the last time i was on them I broke my leg. We got off the chairlift & I literally FROZE... didn't think i could possibly move never mind ski down this BIG ol' mt. I was absolutely paralyzed w/ fear. it felt like minutes of standing there but a few seconds later we were off! i only got one run in from the tippy top of the mt. down - took me 1 hour since i was being SUPER cautious!! & slow. poor luke stuck it out w/ me:) we only had about 5 hours since landon was w/ a babysitter (who came to our condo - so cool) and i had to feed him - didn't bring the pump (that wasn't too smart of me). we even had a nice little lunch date just luke & i! it was good to see davin & he got along great w/ Landon:)
Landon mastered a few new tricks... waving hi & clapping:) too cute! also he had a lot of "real people" food!!! and loved every bite!! He was a great traveler - the 8 hour ride in the car was a bit of a challenge for him but some how we all managed! wish we could have stayed longer & i could have gotten a little more skiing in but I was also REALLY glad to be back home yesterday! all in all ... REALLY good trip!
